From a young age, I have liked making things. When I was three or four, I made scarves and skirts into dresses. My artistic journey went from solving puzzles, to knitting, to hair braiding, to art. In 2nd grade I copied book covers onto paper. In 12th grade, I made a 3D painting using paint, plaster gauze, and cardboard. I really got into art when I was in the 7th grade finding a way to be expressive about what I was feeling. Over time, I found a love for using colors in all the work I make. I try to mix exact colors or create a variety of colors to describe the way the light hits a form. From this, in most of my art, I have a theme of using a variety of shades of blue. I’ve also, in my senior year, experimented with using different materials in my art. In addition to expressing myself through art, as I have continued creating, I have started to think more and more about how my art is received. I would love for my art to have multiple meanings to others and to leave people wanting to see more.
