I like to think of my art as a means of conveying raw emotion. My artwork invites the viewer to join a realm of conjecture and interpretation. When I pick up my medium to create, I work in a very non-linear way. In contrast to a methodical way of production, my approach to drawing figures and even still lifes is consistently about projecting my personal impression of something onto the subject. This way, the final product manifests itself into a conglomerate of emotions that are indescribable through words. The idea that every line and detail in art contributes in an essential way informs the way I look at and execute my pieces. I embrace a chaotic style of drawing and painting that becomes prevalent in all of my work, because I think the unintentional nature of this chaos is what helps portray the more nuanced expressions and characteristics of whatever I’m drawing. I enjoy discovering things that can only be perceived through the lens of art and learning from my own process.
