Coleman Wampler
In my artwork, I like to combine what I see in the real world with what goes on in my head. Many of my works tend to fall under the surreal and abstract categories. To me, these are the most personal ways to connect with a viewer of a piece; The viewer is able to take what they see and interpret it into their own meaning. I use distinct lines in many of my pieces that draw the eye and complete the composition. I tend not to plan out my work, but rather test my composition and colors through trial and error, revising until I am satisfied. I believe first and foremost that art is meant to be looked at, which is what I prioritize; many of my pieces do not have a further meaning than “I imagined this, and I thought it would look cool and interesting.”
